Misleading GT6 Release Date, Box Art Floods the Web

fake-box-art

Beware, GT fans – the Internet has been overflowing with inaccurate information on Gran Turismo 6‘s release date and box art this week.

  1. quick Google News search offers up a sampling of the dozens – if not hundreds – of such articles, many of which have been posted on some of the largest and most popular automotive and gaming news sites.

They all basically say the same thing, suggesting a November 28th release date for the game while assuming fan-made covers are “leaked”, legitimate box art.One offers what appears to be a stock photograph of a curb on a desert race track (it’s taken from this McLaren P1 photo set – thanks for the tip, Fyshokid!),

New Zone of the Enders on hold...for now

ZOE Hero

Mr MGS Hideo Kojima is well renowned for his MGS franchise but another franchise of his that I have always enjoyed is Z.O.E. I loved the style of the robots and the gameplay reminded me of the insane rail shooter ‘Rez’ released in 2001 and also ‘Child of Eden’ released a lot later in 2011 and were produced by Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Although Z.O.E. wasn’t a rail shooter game, the targeting system was similar to Rez and Child of Eden but a lot more open, you were free to move around and strategise your targeting and shooting.

Illumiroom, a core part of next-gen gaming or a gimmick?

illumiroom r1 c1

Having seen a few videos for Microsoft’s Illumiroom I am still not 100% convinced it is the way forward in gaming, It initially reminded me of the Ambilight Philips TV that had a border of light surrounding the TV in which ever colour dominated the scene you were watching. Yes it looks flashy and pretty cool to begin with and you can see the potential in it’s design and application, but does it play a major role in the next-gen Xbox?

John Carpenter speaks up about a Dead Space film

In a recent interview with videogamer.com John Carpenter confessed that he would “love to make Dead Space in to a film, I’ll tell you right now. That one is ready-made”. John Carpenter is the man behind numerous horror classics such as Halloween and The Thing but personally the film that sticks in my mind when I think John Carpenter is Vampires, that was released back in 1998 starring James Woods.

Star Wars fan recreates intro scene in Minecraft

A few weeks ago we showed you the epic Bioshock: Infinite Columbia world recreated on Minecraft and today we bring to you a clip made by ‘Paradise Decay’, he has recreated the opening scene to the original Star Wars film and it is remarkable. I’m not a big Star Wars fan but even I admire Paradise’s work here and also how much he must really love Star Wars.

Saints Row 4 “Meet the President” trailer

Saints Row games aren’t for everyone, especially at the level of craziness that Saints Row the Third brought the game up to (anyone remember the Professor genki’s crazy octopus gun and the car that sucked people up and fired them out of a canon), but my word are they fun. I remember playing Saints Row the Third and for the first hour I commenced to beat the general public with comedic nut shots and reinacting the British Bulldog’s (a wrestler) signature move by running behind people, grabbing their head and planting their face in the ground and this was all before even touching a so called mission.

Wolfenstein: The New Order to launch later this year

Bethesda announced today via Gamespot that the rumoured new Wolfenstein: The New Order game will be released on current gen consoles and next-gen consoles in Q4 2013. The next entry in the first-person shooter series is set in 1960 just after the Nazis won World War II, you remain playing as the recognisable American war hero B.J. Blazkowicz and you’re given the responsibility to launch an “impossible counter-offensive”. Of course you’re going to be taking out a lot of raging power hungry Nazis that have taken over the world, what else did you expect?

Iron Man invades the world of Skyrim

From animators Tyrannicon we bring to you ‘Iron Man: Skyrim at the Movies’ and the result is quite funny and actually works quite well too. The Skyrim Tony Stark doesn’t have all the fancy tech and money the Marvel one does but that doesn’t stop him building an Iron Man-esque suit of armour to begin with and then miraculously builds an impressively similar suit to an actually Iron Man one and do away with all that oppose him.
